Unauthorised Development

You should not undertake works without planning permission. It can upset your planning authority. It will also cause you difficulties when you come to sell your property.

Where works have undertaken without consent, because the need for planning permission was not appreciated, then all is not lost. You may be able to secure planning permission retrospectively. This month Garner Planning has secured two retrospective consents; one for the conversion of ancillary buildings to a residential use and the other for the change of use of building with extension to a dwelling.

It will cause less heartache and sleepless nights if you apply for planning permission at the outset. If in doubt whether or not works require planning permission please call Chris Garner. If works have already been undertaken call Chris Garner for a confidential discussion as to how the matter might be satisfactorily resolved.
