Lodge Park Estate Manager’s Home

June 10th, 2021 | Posted by Chris Garner in News

In 2006 the Lake District National Park Authority refused planning permission for a new estate manager’s lodge at Neaum Crag near Ambleside. A susbsequent appeal was dismissed in 2008.

Garner Planning argued that there had been a significant change in circumstances. Applying the nationally described space standards demonstrated that the existing lodge was too small for permanent occupation and the new planning policy regime no longer required one to demonstrate “exceptional circumstances”. New positive planning policies and a positive approach by LDNPA’s planners means the Estate Manager and family will soon have a better quality of accommodation.
