South Lakeland District Council’s Planning Committee members have given a resounding thumbs up for 18 houses on the former poultry farm site with a vote of 10 to 1 in favour.

Members considered it significant that there were previous planning permissions on the site for 80 chalets and were of the view that residents of the new houses would support and have access to services in Milnthorpe and would assist the viability of the local primary school in Heversham.

The redevelopment of the site will result in the removal of the former poultry farm buildings and will make a significant improvement to the local area.
