Community Infrastructure Levy

March 30th, 2015 | Posted by Chris Garner in News

A Government Inspector has accepted South Lakeland District Council’s proposal to introduce a Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) at a rate of £50 per sq.m of Gross Internal Area for new dwellings.

As from 1st April 2015 all planning applications will be required to be accompanied by CIL documentation. The CIL will apply to all planning permissions granted after 31st May 2015.

It is essential that all documentation is correctly submitted to South Lakeland District Council. The implications of not submitting the correct documentation at the right time is likely to mean any possible exemptions to CIL will not apply.

If you have a development proposal and have submitted a planning application, or about to submit a planning application and wish to discuss the financial implications or need assistance with the CIL process, please call Chris Garner to discuss.
